University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships, you’re required to have applied and meet the entry requirements for a graduate research degree at the host university. Or you should be currently enrolled in a graduate research degree at the host university. International students from all countries, as well as domestic students of Australia, are eligible to apply for these scholarships.
The basic selection criteria for the award of the University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships (MRS) is the academic merit of the eligible applicants. The selection committee will score and rank you according to your academic achievements in your last completed degree and your research potential in the field of study you’ve applied for.

University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships Financial Coverage
As we mentioned earlier, it’s a fully-funded scholarship opportunity that offers 100% fee remission, stipend, and other financial benefits.
Besides the full fee offset, you get a living allowance of $31,200 per year for two years if you’re undertaking a master’s by research degree or up to four years if you’re undertaking a doctoral degree. The living allowance includes limited paid sick, maternity, and parenting leave.
The scholarship also awards you relocation grants of $2000 if you’re moving from states/territories other than Victoria or $3000 if you’re moving from outside Australia.
You’ll also get an Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership if you’re an international student.

How to Apply for University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships?
The best thing about this scholarship is that you don’t need to submit any additional application for it. If you’re a new student at the University of Melbourne and have applied for a master’s or doctoral research course by the closing date of that course, you will be automatically considered for the Graduate Research Scholarships.
If you’re currently enrolled in a graduate research course for which you seek a scholarship, then you must submit an online application form by 31 October to be considered for this scholarship in the following year. You’ll receive a notification from the university that a scholarship has been added to your record within ten business days of having submitted the scholarship form.
