Eligibility Criteria of CERN Short Term Internship

You’ll need to meet the following eligibility criteria to qualify for a place on the internship program.

  • You should be a full time undergraduate student.
  • Your age should be at least 18 years at the time of application.
  • You should have a good knowledge of English and/or French.
  • Your internship at CERN must be recommended or obligatory part of your studies.
  • Your main field of study should be one of the following technical areas:
    • Applied Physics
    • Mathematics
    • Computing
    • Electronics
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Civil Engineering
    • Materials Science
    • Instrumentation
    • Radiation Protection
    • Safety and Environmental Protection
    • Ultra-high Vacuum

How to Apply for CERN Short Term Internship?

The application process of CERN Short Term Internship is online. It’s simple and to the point. All you need is a good CV either in English or French. During the online application, you’ll be asked some basic questions about your academics and other details. You’ll also be asked to write a short motivation letter and your knowledge/experience related to the work you’ll be doing in the internship.

After submitting the online application, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Your application will then be reviewed by experts at CERN. They only offer a limited number of places each year for the program. If in case, your application is not considered, you’ll be informed by email. Or else, if you’re selected, the program coordinator will contact you. Keep in mind that you can apply for a place anytime up to the close of the annual vacancy in October 2022.
